The first basic accessory for any fledgling dress-up performer is a hat.  Children gravitate to hats automatically.  They are in fact often surprised that you recognize them and can call them by name, for wearing that tiara or construction helmet so transforms them into someone else, that they don\'t think they bear any resemblance to that two year old that used to live in your house!
